after thought 016.jpg

This wonderful yarn is the baby camel and merino blend. I knit the sock in a tube from the top down. . I measured from my toe to the heel of my foot and subtracted 2 3/4″ from that number and worked an after thought heel cutting a thread in the middle of the heel stitches at that measurement point . I then picked up stitches on 2 circular needles then, and knit the heel in the same manner you would dec. for the toes. I then did the grafting 16 stitches at the end.

A week ago we had our March yarn month.. I love the yarn it is chocolate/mocca and turqioise.very yummy. The pattern for this yarn was a Chevron Pattern which is alway good for varagated yarn.. This yarn is cashmere, silk and lamb. I think it has been such fun getting yarn that is different and a bit decadent. I think it is great all the different knit stitches and techniques that the club members have learned and on wonderful yarn.

I met my “beginner” knitters at the yarn shop and we picked out yarn for a knit vest. Trish, Heidi, and Erica are doing great. I had decided to jump right in and have them knit a garment. I think it is one of the best ways to learn. We all are knitting a garment –it’s great.

My camera is on the blitz, but hopefully I’ll have a picture posted of socks and scarf  yummm. The November yarn is here and pattern written. The yarn and pattern are quite elegant. Check out crrrrrankygirl.com for socks and the cutest  knit turtle with shell… my little friends want one.

confetti sock 372.jpg

I love this pattern (not to mention Arthur cat),Spiraling Rib, on the Confetti sock yarn.. I think it would be a great pattern on tonal yarn also. The confetti made a great baby jacket from EZ’s Baby Surprise Jacket… I enjoy making that pattern.

Makning Waves 046.jpg
A couple of weeks ago I received this awesome yarn for BetweenStitches Sock Club…it’s a silk blend in colors of rolling waves of green, yellow, and teal .The socks I am making are great …the pattern I wrote for this yarn is called Making Waves. The pattern is just beautiful in this color way. As soon as I am done I’ll get a pic posted…but for now I am just in sock heaven!
All of this yarn is special for the sock club .  It is specially dyed for the sock club and I must tell you that I have to step outside of my element in choosing yarn and sometimes with the colors (although I have great help from the dyer)…this month’s sock is definitely a departure for me! But I LOVE IT!

The pattern really brings out the colors and I think everyone will love how the pattern and yarn meld together.
