This wonderful yarn is the baby camel and merino blend. I knit the sock in a tube from the top down. . I measured from my toe to the heel of my foot and subtracted 2 3/4″ from that number and worked an after thought heel cutting a thread in the middle of the heel stitches at that measurement point . I then picked up stitches on 2 circular needles then, and knit the heel in the same manner you would dec. for the toes. I then did the grafting 16 stitches at the end.

The main room has great windows all around so it gives out such good light to see everything besides what you are knitting on..with good spaces set aside to sit and knit. . It will be growing as the days go on. Take a moment, go up to Powell and / or visit their web site (www.atangledtale.com).

A week ago we had our March yarn month.. I love the yarn it is chocolate/mocca and turqioise.very yummy. The pattern for this yarn was a Chevron Pattern which is alway good for varagated yarn.. This yarn is cashmere, silk and lamb. I think it has been such fun getting yarn that is different and a bit decadent. I think it is great all the different knit stitches and techniques that the club members have learned and on wonderful yarn.

I met my “beginner” knitters at the yarn shop and we picked out yarn for a knit vest. Trish, Heidi, and Erica are doing great. I had decided to jump right in and have them knit a garment. I think it is one of the best ways to learn. We all are knitting a garment –it’s great.

I call this pattern JRS(Just The Right Size) purse. It is my felted adaptation of some I have seen over time. I decided it should have no seams-no sewing- all in one piece. It can be expanded, contracted to fit exactly what you want…try it in a black/plum alpaca for evening quite elegant.

The Computer seems to have been down for ever. Hard drive on the laptop DIED dead….I never thought it would have been such loss, I could not get on Betweenstitches to edit or write. oh how one gets use to doing things a certain way…then gone… and I was just getting better at loading pictures … now to learn that all over again…My son came over today and got most of everything back on track plus more. I learned I had 3805 comments -guess what I learned to do today? right! how to manage the comments (with his help of course)and after all that he learned to knit. Men learn the mechanics of knitting so fast… we covered almost 3 lessons in one today… longtail cast on,knit cast on, knit, purl, stitch position, tear back, pick up, tension, garter stitch, stockinette stitch.circular needles. It was great. I think men focus and “one track” ideas and procedures easily..

what a great day!!!!

Hopefully I’ll be up and back to this site on a regular basis…
