Handmade Volkswagen Bug Cozy, one of a kind.This was the most-est fun project I have been connected to in a long time..a hand knit “VW car cozy”….we all need one you know!
Each peice was knit and then sewn together and stablized on netting. A number of other people also made the adornments to go on the car cozy. It was bedecked and bejeweled for dispay at Winter Fair Art show and sale.
Last night was the first meeting of the soon to be named sock club..Oh what a fun evening it was.. 34 of us met at Panera Resturant in their meeting room that was suppose to hold 22 And guess what, we all fit in one room. No one objected to the close quarters ( us knitters are very adaptable when we know we are going to knit) I have had such fun finding yarn suppliers– calling across the country and getting all kinds of responses…. finally finding someone almost in my back yard so to speak..then the dye-ing of the yarn. finding some wonderful dyers and then having them not follow through..oh the fun of starting a business … then finally finding someone and it was great.. we are still in the learning process of what everyone wants , but had such a nice turn out (twice as many as first expected) and sign ups for the next time…I had so many phone calls telling me how much they fun they all had surprise yarn,pattern and old and new knitters- Frederick ( my 1st born) came with camera and his socks in hand (what a great support he is) –he took a thousand pictures of us all doing everything and they will soon be posted (well some of them)— life if good… more later ,teaching calls.
Our First meeting
It was a packed house for sure, room for 20 and there were 36 knitters who signed up and came! Almost (needle to needle) It was such a fun night . The best part I think, everyone really liked being together. We all met new knitter-friends and started knitting socks right away…knitting heaven
