Baby Hat with the sock yarn

I have been knitting so much lately and loving it . I loved the new March selection of yarn from BetweenStitches Sock Club so much that besides socks, I knit a preemie baby hat.(sock yarn is good for so many projects besides socks) I wrote a rolled brim pattern with a 9 spoke decrease at the crown of the hat. I decided to do reverse stockinette stitch in between the ribs to help frame the baby’s face…turned out good don’t you think? I also have in progess a Baby Surprise Jacket (Elizabeth Zimmerman’s pattern) in the same yarn. I am about half done with the sweater but couldn’t wait to show the hat. It is sooooo cute.

Felting Fabulous

I had a student from Dayton on Saturday morning for a Moebius Bowl lesson from Cat Bordi’s book, Second treasury of Magical Knitting… Oh what fun it is to teach others how to do the cast on with the bowl.It is magic as Cat says.My student inspired me to knit the tri-fold felted bowl. I decided to knit it in the colors of the sample in the book. It turned out so fabulous. I used Harmony by Iron stone yarns which I think is one of the best yarns to use for felting..Give the pattern a whirl you’ll love it.
