For the last 3 weeks, a new beginning class started on thursday nights. What a great group it is. Here is a picture if Heidi’s sampler wash cloth. What a good job Heidi...All the Girls picked up the “how to” very well…and have just moved on with great gusto. They all will be starting a sweater vest with side opening and detailed pattern…what fun to start a garment. I can hardly wait.

Sock Club and Knitting and28 Oct 2007 11:36 am

I think the Sock Club should be subtitled “for yarn lovers”. Last months yarn was such a hit.. that again had to have more..I made a scarf out of it . A little rib pattern..ooo my so soft to the touch…of course cashmere with anything is never bad to the touch. If you want the pattern E-Mail me and I’ll send it on to you.. My camera is on the blitz, but hopefully I’ll have a picture posted of socks and scarf  yummm. The November yarn is here and pattern written. The yarn and pattern are quite elegant. Check out crrrrrankygirl.com for socks and the cutest  knit turtle with shell… my little friends want one.

Victorian Lace Today
Victorian Lace Today (Hardcover)
by Jane Sowerby

I returned from Stitches Midwest last week and I am still processing all the information…From new ways to do knit braids, and teaching techniques to remember. There were New yarns and colors I am thinking about for sock club.
I took classes from Nancy Bush for the entire week… I had never done it that way before and it turned out to be a good idea.. You get use to a way of teaching and sometimes that makes it easier to process through new projects that are presented. I took Estonian Lace, Vintage Socks, and Knitted Braids which I loved… some new twists to add to my knitting. The Market was good as usual, and I shocked myself, I bought 2 knitting books and NO Yarn … I still can’t get over that one myself, NO Yarn!!! The Student/Teacher dinner on Saturday night was very enjoyable . Some of the Students modeled beautiful Lace shawls and scarves…….. breathtaking work. I know they were inspired by Jane Sowerby book, Victorian Lace Today.
